Brochure Printing

Regular brochure printing can surprise a lot of people if you are creative enough. However, do you know that there are features that you can add in brochure printing that most do not know about.Yes, There are actually a lot of things that most people never thought you could do with color brochures. Let me give you a few of these ideas so that you can find some inspiration on how to make your ad look and feel different. Interactive structures – Did you know that you could make interactive brochures? Yes, with a little know how and design experience you can actually engage the reader to interact. For example, by just adding small features just like in a popup book where some things jump or pop out of the material, people can be entertained by shifting messages and shapes as they browse through your ad. For instructive or reference types, this can be quite the powerful tool in making people remember what they need to do. Using glitter inks and surfaces – Do you also know that besides regular inks, there are ways to make them glitter? There are special inks and even special paper surfaces where the glittering elements are built into the material. Therefore, you can actually see your text glitter or gleam in the light or the surface of the brochure itself can glimmer slightly. This is all done with metallic inks and special order paper with reflective material. It can get expensive but the effect is something that is beautiful and not people expect it from most. Adding holograms and 3D effects – It is also possible to add holograms and 3D effects. The process is expensive and it might require a separate firm that does the holograms or 3D effects but it can actually be done. This adds a very futuristic but totally elegant feature that can blow the minds of your readers. If you have a nice modern theme to your designs this feature is quite ideal.

Creating Brochures

Brochures are an excellent way to advertise your business, your services or your products. Any brochure that is advertising a product or a service has one singular aim – to make the buyer pick it up and read the content – which means that brochure designs must be original, unusual and eye-catching enough to entice the consumer to reach out for them. A brochure that is lying at a checkout counter always has other brochures to compete with, so what makes a successful brochure stand out from the crowd? What would make you pick out a particular brochure from a stack? If you think about that, you will realise that either the color attracted you in some way or the brochure looked “different” or it featured a product that caught your interest. The use of color is always important in brochure designs. Innovative ways to use colors and unusual combinations immediately catch the eye. For example, a single, flat, clean color balanced with blank spaces and an interesting font in a contrasting color is very striking, if you want to keep your brochure simple but dramatic.
Using painted brush strokes as a backdrop is also very effective, particularly if the background looks like canvas or an old piece of parchment. It can give the brochure a creative touch, making it look like a work of art, unusual and attractive – if your product fits this theme, of course. Adding a little glitter to a brochure can spice it up. Sparkle is always attractive on brochures introducing new products – like a magical manifestation in a shower of sparks! Gold and silver metallic inks lend a touch of class to brochures advertising high-end products. Combined with old-fashioned typography and artistic borders, your brochure will have luxury and refinement written all over it, and who can resist that? If your brochure contains photographs, ensure that they are top quality. Employ a professional photographer to take photographs of your products in unusual layouts. Similarly, graphics on your brochure should be creative, artistic and executed by a skilled hand. Printing and paper should be of the highest quality – inferiority has never attracted anyone. If you have studied various brochure designs, you will have noticed that the font is an important element of the overall design. It must be relevant to the subject matter; a formal script will not match a brochure advertising clothes for teenagers and a comic script will look foolish on brochures advertising elegant footwear.

Brochure Printing

If you run a small business and are launching an advertising campaign using brochure printing, you will no doubt be worried about the costs. Of course, you will also be wondering how to lower these costs. It’s easy to find incredible prices for both brochure design and printing services, however, there are many things to consider that will influence the cost.

What size should the brochures be?

One of the first things people ask themselves is “What size brochures do I want?”.This option is extremely important depending on your chosen distribution method. If you will be mass mailing your brochures, having a brochure that is larger than standard letter size can cost considerably more to mail, however, it will stand out above all of the other mail in the mailbox the day it is received. Additionally, the number of pages (or folds) you use in your brochure along with the grade of paper, can determine your postage rates. The safest bet is to try and choose a standard size that is small enough to keep costs low while still being large enough to attract attention from your target audience in your chosen display setting. The most highly used sizes are 8.5×11 Trifold Brochures and 11×17 Trifold Brochures.

Stick to a regular shape

Although many people like quirky advertising and it may be tempting to use a non-standard shape for your brochures this can drastically increase the price. For example, a home insurance company may well want to use a house-shaped brochure to advertise their services, but since this shape will have to be custom made by the printer, it will almost certainly cost more. Just because the brochures are rectangular doesn’t mean that they have to be boring. You can find other ways to spice them up.
