Facebook is an example of a very popular social site. You can create a free account and start adding friends to your list. Build up a big network of friends and then start changing your profile url to your new website. Post on your wall some good tips and then give out your URL. Then add a page and group to your profile. This will allow you to attract a lot more people who will then see your message and links. Once you get established that you know a little about your niche then you can really start to promote your offers. Just make sure your not spamming your wall with a lot of ads.
